Joey Kid

Born on July 25, 1970 Jose Antonio Baez-Perez grew up on the Grand Concourse in the Bronx, New York with his mother, father and brother. This High School of the Performing Arts graduate knew from a very young age that music and dance was in his blood. After high school he was introduced to Craig Bevan and Barry Zeger of Basement records by Latin artist La India. Joey Kid released his first album in 1992 on Atlantic Records.

The album spun 4 major hits and two music videos, "Broken Promises", "Everything I Own", "Counting the Days" and "I'm Not in Love". Later, he was recruited by Robert Clivilles and David Cole of C & C Music Factory to join Trilogy for a world tour. For two years Joey Kid toured all over Europe and Asia with the group. He has appeared on Nickelodeon Television, performed at the world famous Apollo Theatre, Madison Square Garden, The Palladium, Studio 54, The Beacon Theatre as well as various night clubs and theaters around the world. He has also danced with George Lamond and Loose Touch and appeared as a back ground vocalist on several recordings for various artist. He has been up for a Grammy nomination, MTV Music Award, Billboard Award and The American Music Award with C & C Music Factory.

With his astonishing vocals and high energy moves, good looks and stylish gear Joey Kid is the package. He is currently working on his new album which will consist of Freestyle, R & B and sultry slow jams. There will also be some collaboration with a few well known vocalists and legendary producers on the album due out in 2006.
